Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The manuscript is original, unpublished, not a multiple submission to other journals, not under consideration elsewhere, and any prior dissemination is declared.
- All listed authors meet authorship criteria, contributed significantly, and approve this submission for publication.
- The manuscript adheres to all IJoDS Author Guidelines regarding style, structure (IMRaD), and IEEE referencing.
- The manuscript is in an acceptable file format with high-quality figures and editable tables.
- Necessary ethical approvals and consent (if applicable) are obtained, stated, and IJoDS ethics policies are followed.
- A complete Conflicts of Interest statement is included, or absence thereof is declared.
- Use of AI tools in manuscript preparation is appropriately disclosed as per IJoDS policy.
- Permissions for any included third-party copyrighted material have been obtained and are indicated.
- A cover letter is provided, confirming key submission aspects and manuscript significance.

- Automatically collected information: Like many websites, our OJS platform may automatically collect certain information when you visit our site, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, and Browse behavior (e.g., pages visited, time spent on site). Typically, cookies and server logs accomplish this.
Purpose and Use of Information
We utilize the collected personal information for the following purposes:
- To manage the manuscript submission, peer review, and publication process.
- To communicate with authors, reviewers, and readers regarding their submissions, reviews, or other journal-related matters.
- To publish accepted articles, which includes authors' names and affiliations.
- To create and manage user accounts.
- To improve our website, services, and user experience.
- To compile anonymized statistics regarding our readership and usage, which helps us in managing and developing the journal.
- To fulfill legal and administrative requirements, such as indexing and archiving.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
IJoDS respects the confidentiality of your personal information. We will not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We may share personal information in the following limited circumstances:
- With Service Providers: We may share information with third-party service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as website hosting, platform maintenance (OJS), plagiarism checking, and DOI registration (e.g., CrossRef). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.
- With Our Publisher and Collaborators: Information may be shared with our publisher, the Indonesian Society for Knowledge and Human Development (INSIGHT), for operational and administrative purposes. We may also share necessary information with collaborators like EBSCO Information Services for indexing and content dissemination.
- For Publication: The names and affiliations of authors of published articles will be made publicly available as part of the publication. Reviewer names are kept confidential under our double-blind peer review policy unless a reviewer chooses to sign their review and consents to disclosure.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect and defend our rights or property, or in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of any individual.
- Article Processing Charges (APC): For payment of APCs, authors will be directed to use PayPal. IJoDS does not collect or store credit card or direct bank account information. PayPal's privacy policy will govern the information you provide to them for payment processing.
Data Security
IJoDS takes reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Our OJS platform employs security features to safeguard data. However, no internet-based transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Statement, to maintain a record of our publishing activities, or as required by law. Information associated with published articles (e.g., author names, affiliations) is retained indefinitely as part of the scholarly record.
